These Terms & Conditions apply to the use of this website and to services provided by Smart Inspection Services LTD (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using our website, requesting a quote, placing an order, or instructing us to attend site, you agree to these terms.

1) About us
Smart Inspection Services LTD provides statutory engineering inspection and examination services, including (where applicable) examinations under LOLER, PUWER, PSSR, WAHR and COSHH/LEV.

2) Definitions
Client / You: the person or organisation requesting services.
Services: inspections, examinations, testing, reporting, and related activities we provide.
Report: written findings issued by us following Services.
Site: any location where Services are carried out.
3) Quotes, orders and acceptance
- Quotes are provided based on information supplied by you and are valid for a reasonable period unless stated otherwise.
- We may revise a quote if scope, quantities, site conditions, access requirements, or timelines change.
- An order is accepted when we confirm in writing (email is sufficient) or when we attend site and commence Services.
- You are responsible for ensuring the information you provide is accurate and complete.
4) Scheduling & access
We will agree a date/time for attendance. You must ensure we have safe access to the equipment and site, including:
- Safe access/egress, permits, inductions, and supervision where required
- Equipment made available and prepared (e.g. isolated, unloaded, depressurised where applicable)
- Competent operators/assistants provided where needed
- Relevant documentation (previous reports, drawings, WSEs, maintenance records)
5) Safety & site rules
You must inform us in advance of any site hazards, restricted areas, and safety requirements. We may refuse or stop work if conditions are unsafe or if access is not suitable to complete Services safely.
Any delays caused by site conditions, lack of access, missing documentation, or unsafe environments may result in rescheduling and/or additional charges.
6) Scope of work
We will provide Services in accordance with the agreed scope, relevant legislation and/or recognised standards, where applicable. Unless explicitly agreed in writing:
7) Reports & documentation
- Reports are issued for the Client’s internal compliance and safety management purposes.
- Reports may be provided electronically unless otherwise agreed.
- It is your responsibility to review reports and act on any defects, recommendations, or statutory requirements.
- Where written schemes (WSE) are provided, they are based on the information and access available at the time.
8) Fees & payment
- Fees are as agreed in the quote/order confirmation.
- Additional work outside scope, repeat visits due to access issues, or waiting time may be chargeable.
- Invoices are payable within the stated payment terms (if not stated, within a reasonable time).
- Late payment may result in suspension of further Services until the account is settled.
9) Cancellations & rescheduling
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give as much notice as possible. We reserve the right to charge reasonable costs for late cancellation, wasted travel, or time reserved where:
- Access is not available on arrival
- Equipment is not prepared or safe to inspect/examine
- Site rules or permits prevent work proceeding
- Work must be stopped due to unsafe conditions outside our control
10) Liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
Subject to the above, our liability is limited to losses that are reasonably foreseeable. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (including loss of profit, production, or business interruption) except where required by law.
11) Client responsibilities
You remain responsible for safe operation, maintenance and compliance of equipment, including taking action on defects and recommendations identified in reports. You must ensure that people using equipment are competent and that statutory requirements are met.
12) Intellectual property
All website content, branding and materials are owned by or licensed to Smart Inspection Services LTD. Reports and documentation produced for you may be used internally by you for compliance purposes. You may not reproduce or distribute our reports to third parties for commercial purposes without written consent, except where required by law or regulatory obligations.
13) Confidentiality
We will treat commercially sensitive information as confidential where reasonably practicable. You must also treat our pricing, methodologies and documentation as confidential unless disclosure is required by law.
14) Privacy
Personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. If you submit personal data through our website, you confirm you have the right to share it and that it is accurate.
15) Website use
- You must not misuse the website (including attempting unauthorised access to admin areas or systems).
- We may update, suspend or withdraw any part of the website without notice.
- Information on this website is provided for general guidance and does not constitute legal advice.
16) Complaints
If you have a concern about our Services, please contact us as soon as possible with details of the issue so we can investigate and respond.
17) Governing law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
